As frequently as I am struck by lens envy, I’ve been keeping an eye out for a purchase to assuage some of these feelings. I’ve figured I had decent stop gap lenses for group photos and action sports, although on my crop sensor 7D mkII, the wide end on the 70-200 is a little tight for basketball and some other side-line sports. As much as I’d like to pull the trigger on a wide-ish zoom, a 24-70 2.8 for some group and sports work, or a 18-35 Sigma Art 1.8 that is highly thought of. I decided to give myself a real treat and buy a 150-600 Sigma Contemporary. Certainly nothing to help me with my group or individual pictures, but boy is it fun for wildlife. And I’m sure it will get some use on the soccer or lacrosse field this year. Although I’m learning, regardless of glass, there is no substitute for getting close! Here are a few of my first sharp shots! Thanks for viewing!
